What first got you into music?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_332\">Hey Hey,\u00a0 thank you for chatting with me!\u00a0I\u00a0started playing piano when\u00a0I\u00a0was seven years old and\u00a0that\u00a0was my introduction to becoming an instrumentalist.\u00a0I\u00a0was taught by a\u00a0Russian piano teacher named Vera, the first song\u00a0that\u00a0I\u00a0learned on piano was, &#8220;Hall of the Mountain King&#8221;.\u00a0I\u00a0decided to become a musician at 7\/8 years old when\u00a0I\u00a0watched &#8220;Yellow Submarine&#8221; by The Beatles, for the first time at school. Cartoon Paul McCartney was the catalyst for my journey into music.\u00a0I\u00a0switched to guitar when\u00a0I\u00a0was 9 years old after seeing Keith Richards in the\u00a0&#8220;Start Me Up&#8221; video. My favorite Tv Channel as a kid was VH1 Classics.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_332\"><strong>Who would you most like to collaborate with?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_332\">If\u00a0I\u00a0had the chance to collaborate with anyone\u00a0it\u00a0would be Todd Rundgren. Todd Rundgren\u00a0is\u00a0my biggest influence\u00a0when\u00a0it\u00a0comes to song structure, melody and instrumentation. He also inspired me to start playing everything by myself\u00a0and producing my own songs.\u00a0I\u00a0would love to play synth or electric piano on one of his tracks.\u00a0He\u00a0is\u00a0also one of my main vocal influences.\u00a0I\u00a0love Todd Rundgren!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_339\"><strong>Your latest song&nbsp;is&nbsp;&#8216;<\/strong><strong>I&nbsp;Wear&nbsp;It&nbsp;Well<\/strong><strong>&#8216;. Can you tell us more about the making of&nbsp;it&nbsp;and if there were any unusual things happening during the process?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_339\">I\u00a0recorded everything myself and played every instrument on this track. This song took me a day to record and about 3 weeks of mixing. This song was actually another song\u00a0that\u00a0did not feel\u00a0right\u00a0and\u00a0I\u00a0kept running into issues while recording\u00a0it.\u00a0I\u00a0was at the point of tears when\u00a0I\u00a0deleted the original vocal track\/lyrics and improvised these lyrics in frustration.\u00a0I\u00a0listened to\u00a0it\u00a0after calming down and decided to keep\u00a0it! Also, just being alive and making the most of my day. Earth isn&#8217;t the best place but everyday\u00a0that\u00a0you wake up and have the opportunity to enjoy yourself\u00a0is\u00a0a blessing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_348\"><strong>What&nbsp;is&nbsp;the biggest challenge of being an artist?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_348\">The biggest challenge\u00a0that\u00a0I\u00a0have faced as an artist has been confidence.\u00a0I\u00a0had my own band for 8 years and played live shows for 5 years.\u00a0It\u00a0wasn&#8217;t until the last two years\u00a0that\u00a0I\u00a0finally believed in myself enough to become a solo artist.\u00a0It\u00a0was the best decision of my life. Playing with groups and in group settings felt suffocating to me.\u00a0I\u00a0didn&#8217;t like compromising or sacrificing my ideas or parts of myself in order to collaborate with others.\u00a0It\u00a0started chipping away at my self-worth and hindering my creative abilities. Bands or group activities are not for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_351\"><strong>How do you structure your day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_351\">I\u00a0structure my day around my work load or practice time.\u00a0I\u00a0like to start my days working or creating a plan for my projects\u00a0that\u00a0week.\u00a0I\u00a0am learning to also include leisure time to prevent burn out.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_355\"><strong>Do you have any hobbies or interests outside of music?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_355\">I\u00a0really enjoy cooking,\u00a0that&#8217;s one of my favorite\u00a0hobbies.\u00a0Right\u00a0now,\u00a0I\u00a0am learning how to perfect a rack of lamb.\u00a0I\u00a0redirect the energy\u00a0that\u00a0I\u00a0use\u00a0while working into my hobbies, my hobbies almost feel like projects because of\u00a0that. Studying\/researching and reading are my main hobbies.\u00a0I\u00a0love studying ancient\/sacred texts, my online library\u00a0is\u00a0eclectic and academic. My favorite subjects are Occult Science\/Medieval Fantasy and Religion.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_358\"><strong>Do you sing in the shower? What songs?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"m_3713454891323487009m_-8008133915373742253gmail-yui_3_17_2_1_1656184351441_358\">I\u00a0like this question!\u00a0I\u00a0actually write the melodies for my songs in the shower,\u00a0it&#8217;s my favorite place to come up with creative ideas or sort through my thoughts. Recently,\u00a0I\u00a0have been singing &#8220;Thief In The Night&#8221; by The Rolling Stones in the shower.
